One of Europe’s first large-scale offshore CO2 storage initiatives
Havstjerne CO2 Storage
The Havstjerne project (EXL 006 Havstjerne) is a pioneering carbon storage development located in the North Sea on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, 135 kilometers southwest of the city of Stavanger.
The STARFISH (Sequestration Technology and Reservoir: Floating Injection and Storage in Havstjerne) project, will provide a first-of-its-kind, large-scale solution for CO2 sequestration using shared, flexible offshore infrastructure. In 2025, the project was awarded a €225 million grant from the EU Innovation Fund.
